Feedback / Pros and Cons

This Matrix quartz metronome has received predominantly positive reviews online, though some issues do seem to recur.

Many have praised its ease of use, long battery life and competitive price. It is compact enough to easily fit into a bag and many instrument cases, and is solidly constructed. Opinions on the volume seem to be divided, with most users finding it very easy to hear, but others finding it either too loud or too quiet (and it doesn’t have a volume control). The click tone is generally considered to be easy on the ear, unlike some other more annoying metronomes.

On the other hand, a few criticisms have been made of its accuracy, especially after some months or more of use. As with any product, defects can occasionally occur, and in this case a small minority of units appear to share the problem of clicking too rapidly regardless of the setting. Since this is a no-frills model, it has some limitations you should be aware of before buying – for example, a number of people dislike the inability to set the tempo to the nearest individual beat, and it doesn’t have more advanced features like the ability to accent specific beats.

Overall, this is a basic, easy to use metronome that is a good choice for children, those on a budget, or those who don’t want or need lots of fancy features.
