Acoustic Guitar Secrets is a physical format course that consists of five DVDs (with seven hours of instruction), two CDs (with 127 tracks) and a tutor book. It is created by Dan Denley, who shows you how to play acoustic guitar from scratch, covering topics such as chords, rhythm, picking and strumming techniques, various musical styles including rock, pop, jazz, country and blues, as well as how to buy and care for your guitar. You also get access to a private member’s forum, where you can get support as you work through the course. Acoustic Guitar Secrets currently costs $127.

Just Acoustic
Just Acoustic is created by Nathan Wilson, and teaches you how to play a variety of popular songs using a step by step format. It also provides downloadable tabs plus audio and video instruction covering many acoustic guitar techniques, from beginner to advanced level. You get an array of bonuses too, discussing subjects such as singing, songwriting, playing in a band and more. This is a membership site, and currently offers two subscription options – a yearly fee of $24.95, or a one-off fee of $39.95, which gives you access for life with no recurring costs.

Bass Guitar Lessons
Bass Guitar Secrets
Pro bassist Alex Sampson’s Bass Guitar Secrets is a course for bass players of all ages and experience levels. His ‘CG-X’ system aims to teach you how to quickly and easily figure out fantastic bass lines for any song, and consists of a comprehensive two-part manual with over 350 sound files. You also receive a variety of bonuses, including jamming software and one on one coaching session. Bass Guitar Secrets is currently available in physical format – CDs and printed books – for $97 (normally $179), and as a CD-ROM version for $49.95.

Bass Guitar Tips
Bass Guitar Tips is a set of (currently) free lessons for electric bassists, also by Alex Sampson. He teaches bass players to create better basslines with ease, with techniques including the ‘Groove Suck Method’. FunkyChops by Jim Lee shows you how to play 101 great slap bass riffs by ear – a great way to develop your aural skills. It is aimed at bass players of all levels, and the instruction is provided in audio and video format, either on CD-ROM or as a download. The CD version costs $49.99 and the download $29.99.

Blues Guitar Lessons
50 Blues Backing Tracks

Dan Denley’s Blues Guitar Secrets is a DVD-based course that shows you how to play blues guitar, although it is aimed at those with some existing skills who are new to blues, rather than complete beginner guitarists. There are 9 DVDs, with over 10 hours of instruction, starting with simple 12 bar blues and going on to cover a wide variety of scales, chords, rhythms and techniques, so by the end you’ll be able to play fantastic-sounding blues guitar in a variety of styles. Lead Guitar Blues Power

Sizzling Guitar Licks [Country]
Sizzling Guitar Licks is produced by renowned guitarist Doug Seven, and shows you how to play a wide range of modern country guitar licks from top guitarists in this genre (it isn’t aimed at complete beginners however). This is a video-based course with detailed instruction, and you also get guitar tabs, professional backing tracks to play along with, software for changing the key and/or tempo of the tracks, as well as lots of tips for improving your playing. There are four volumes of Sizzling Guitar Licks, plus several volumes of related material. You can buy each part separately, either as a DVD or a download, with prices starting at just $7.

Play Worship Guitar
Play Worship Guitar is a complete course that teaches you to play guitar from scratch, with the emphasis on playing Christian worship songs. Instructor Aaron Anastasi has helped many people to learn guitar successfully who have failed with other methods, and his program also includes a number of bonuses, including a software guitar tuner, a chord reference book, a metronome, a guide to becoming a great worship leader and more.
