Antonio Hermosa Guitars

Antonio Hermosa is a manufacturer of classical and flamenco acoustic guitars. The instruments are attractively made, being based on traditional designs from the 19th century, while also incorporating modern advances that make them appealing to contemporary guitarists.

Guitar Types

Antonio Hermosa’s guitars fall into three categories: traditional classical models, flamenco guitars, and cutaway models featuring acoustic pickups. The range includes instruments with specialist features/designs, such as left-handed guitars, smaller bodies, and narrow fretboards.

Antonio Hermosa Classical Guitars

Hermosa’s classical guitar models are the largest part of the company’s range. They feature solid cedar tops and rosewood or mahogany back, sides and necks. Current models include:

This attractive guitar features rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck and beautiful abalone detail on the purfling and rosette.

This is a more restrained looking design, which also has rosewood back and sides and a mahogany neck.

Antonio Hermosa AH-10 Classical Guitar

The popular Hermosa AH-10 classical guitar, available from Amazon

The AH-10 (pictured right) is a popular model, and features mahogany back, sides and neck, with a traditional mosaic rosette. It is also available with a narrow fretboard, a ¾ size body and in a left-handed version (below).

AH-10NF (narrow fretboard model)

AH-10L (left-handed model)

AHQ-10 (3/4 size)

The AH-8 is the lowest priced model in the classical range, and is aimed at beginner guitarists. It has an elegant appearance, with mahogany back, sides and neck, and a rosewood fretboard.

Antonio Hermosa Flamenco Guitars

There is one flamenco variety available: the AH-15, which is made from solid spruce, with cypress sides and back. This choice of woods gives this guitar the traditional bright flamenco tone.

Antonio Hermosa Cutaway Classical Guitars

There are also two cutaway classical guitar models with acoustic pickups, which are often favoured by players who want to be able to access the upper frets more easily, as well as those who like the extra volume and distinct tonal qualities that the pickups can offer.

As the name suggests, this is a cutaway version of the AH-10, with the same woods and other elements. It also features a 4-band EQ pickup, which offers greater control over the guitar’s volume and tone, making it especially good for recording and live performance use.

AHT-10CE (thinbody model)
This model is similar to the AH-10CE, except it has a thinner body, which many people find easier to handle.
